Electrowheels Goes On The Road Toronto/Florida/ California
Jan 22
It’s actually day two on our drive, we couldn’t write yesterday as we were just getting into the groove of driving and home away from home.
It’s early morning on Jan 22nd and we just left West Virginia and we are heading SOUTH baby. The sun in shining and of course the coffee and smiles are in place and our journey has started,
Jeff and I will give you a little a refresher on yesterday so our electro wheels family, riders, anyone who knows us, or is curious to know us, or just wants to know our experience – We’ll here it is.
We finally got on the road, left Toronto on Friday Jan 21st after five days of careful preparations and packing up the Sprinter (Jeff’s Mercedes). Long days and nights. I think I was organizeing my wardrobe for the different weather climates. LOL
It’s amazing; we have 8 different models of electro wheels bikes, so many amazing accessories and of course half our house all in this truck. I’m shocked Jeff left his PS3 behind. Maybe I’m more shock he lefted the coffee machine. Ok, now I feel I need to go home, I left everything. But all our dealers, new dealers, family and friends -new and old it will be SO worth it.
So we left Toronto. No tears were shed, just some moans cause it was early and the truck is our home for the next month. The odometer reads 61313 so we know we will be fine and this trip is a great idea. We got married on 6.13. 2010. That’s not luck it’s meant to be that we are together. So into the snow we go….
We made it to US customs within 2 hours. Got to talk about customs. It was painless. Knowledge and education is key in life, that’s what it boils down to. They are not educated on eco friendly viechles. They have this really cool ex-ray machine that the cars go thru. It’s like the truck got a MRI. After the x-ray – inside went the truck for it’s physical examines and Jeff gave them electric bikes 101. The examiner was a woman so HELLLOOOOOOO of course Jeff made a serious woman smile and laugh with his jokes and just being himself. We were on our way.
USA – Here we are. Yippee I’m home. There were lots of different weather patterns but we did not see any palm trees – YET. The snow, wind and trucks kicked us around a lot. Nothing much I can say about it thou Jeff is the best and most trusting driver. Anyone who knows Jeff has seen him hauling our event sprinter along with the additional 40-foot trailer behind it. So what’s a little snow and wind to him, it’s like playing the play station. We climbed and climbed more and more mountain. And then we decided to call it a day when we started racing a deer through the West Virginia Mountains.

So here we are June 22nd we had a great sleep and we are leaving WV and heading SOUTH. Since writing this on my computer and talking and singing and looking at the scenic view we are now in North Carolinia. Where did the time go before I know it I’ll be home? But here is amazing news NO SNOW on the ground it’s amazing and we are just cruising along.
OH- Jeff is wearing his hat everyone. Of course. LOL
Jan 22nd was a great driving day EXCEPT 2 flat tires. Jeff was on the ground in the dark fixing the tire in Georgia. Not one cop pulled over during that time. It was dark but of course he fixed it. We both saw the bubble in the spare but maybe if we didn’t say much about it would take us the five more hours we only needed to go. We got about 50 more miles and hit Florida and it blew at about 12am. Holy!!!! So Jeff did his talking thang and next thing you know we met Jamie ,Max and Rhoda and they got us towed, a new tire and on the road at 1am. Thank you guys!!! We will be back in St. Augustine to visit them for sure. We stayed the night and now still were heading SOUTH baby.

Were here in Boca Raton. We made it here yesterday and J&J are settling in. More to come.
Jan 27
We have been busy here since we got here. It’s easy to unpack a truck that’s for sure. I was happy when Jeff took the giant shovel out that we need if we fall in a ditch during the drive. No comment. We have been trying to do catch up with family, friends, riders and dealers. Jeff has been to USA Scooters to see Jen, Joe and the gang. They just sold a Python. We miss them and it’s good to be around them. Electric is really come a far way here in Florida. Jeff is actually getting stopped by curious onlookers and not cops. Thank goodness for that. Jeff already started working on our customers bikes himself. If you need him, just call us, we are not here in FL for long. We all know we love when Jeff does the work himself and he is doing house calls. DR.J. The head honcho not groucho in action!! It’s great to see our dealers and riders down here and looking forward to opening more. Need more coffee – talk later.

It’s been a while since I’ve written, but it has been busy for Jeff and I. Either both of us just Jeff have been going to see some dealer potentials for demonstrations. Jeff has our mobile showroom all hooked up. There are really nice electric bike dealers out there and I’m glad they want to see and learn about improved electric bikes. “We crush the competition”.
We’ve been having sooooome fun of course too. Great days with friends riding Electrowheels around Fort Lauderdale Fl. beach last weekend. Check out the pics on Facebook. Yesterday we were in Boca Raton & Deerfield Beach, Fl. riding our bikes. We needed to clear our heads and well, any e-bike rider knows that a good ride can make you smile and just clear your unwanted thoughts away. So off we went. It was amazing, we stopped at this great lookout point by the beach, and met a bunch of some fine people who really took a big interest in our bikes. The people kept coming it made me smile. We spent the rest of the day happily talking to them about Electrowheels and showing our 2 bikes we were riding. Jeff and I were so happy; we cleared our thoughts just by talking and seeing more enthusiasm out there for Electrowheels bikes. We hope to have more happy riders out there soon.

Still here in South Florida. We were on our way to the West but it seems that the South is is gonna be the best. At least for right now. Were preparing for the Miami Boat show next week. Everyone back home come on over to the show, we miss ya. Feb 17- 21st.
Feb 22nd
What a great Miami boat show. It was work, with smiles, fun and meeting new people. Josh came in from Toronto, to help and be with us. My mom came as well and supported us with her home cooking. We were just missing Lindsay. We missed you. It was that type of show where we just enjoyed being ourselves (of course) and letting people know we are the electric scooter producers from Toronto and were part of our new dealer’s booth, The Electric Experience in Delray Beach. It was about educate and listen and “makin some waves”. No punt intended.
The next upcoming week/weeks is going to be crazy stuff. Hopefully people say what they mean and mean what they say. So if you all come through and want to join the electro movement - lets make history together! Jeff and I can stay as long as you need us.

So it’s taken forever to write, guess I’m not the bloggin type, more of the talker. It’s time to update for sure. Jeff and I never made it to California, as biz got busy here and we figured we would stay and give our attention and love to the South. We saw potentials everywhere from Plantation, Hollywood, Delray, Lake Worth, Okeechobee, Punta Gorda, and Key West. It takes a lot of time and were wishing, wanting, waiting for electric to be a need and eager to see what happens now. Sounds like a lot of work and no play, but Jeff and I managed to take a cruise. We had a blast.
It looks like Cozumel, Mexico is in the running for ElectroWheels. It’s a powerful gas area but – never say never. Yes, we worked vacation too. Hey, did you think Jeff ever stops with his passion? Loving what we do and being a family business it never really turns off, but no worries, it was fun to work and vacation at the same time. You get to meet some great people when you’re willing to be yourself all the time.
We are hoping to wrap things up and planning on taking 95 N home. Maybe Washington & NJ to see some contacts we made. NYC of course!!
Here we come….heading North and home.
April 1st
Were home! We surely missed family, friends, customers, and of course our home. Obviously we had great adventures driving home. Stopped in Maryland, NYC and NJ. It was amazing catching up with old friends in NYC.
I must admit living in Florida was great. Family, friends, biz lots of good love there. Driving home Jeff and I had our road trip adventures. On the way we stopped in and saw a potential dealer in Maryland. A drive by in NJ for a Python delivery.
GREAT news our dealer Electric Experience, sold 2 Pacinos and the Python. Electrowheels riders are everywhere.
Things are movin and groovin back here in Toronto. The journey continues. It’s a beautiful spring day in Toronto and already it’s non-stop here at the office. Our Electrowheels customers have seen the first signs of spring and everybody is ready. It’s amazing I see E-bikes all over the city.
Jeff, Josh and I here in the office if you need us. We deeply apologize to anyone who did not get a reply while we were away. Thanks for your support and see you on the Electric Blog Page.
The apparent goal of a journey is simply the carrot the universe dangles before you to call you to the adventure and learn the lessons the journey yields. Martin Buber declared, “All journeys have destinations of which the traveler is unaware. ”
